Meet the Dueling Chefs of Cuisine & Cuvée!

The 17th Annual Cuisine & Cuvée is pleased to announce that we will be hosting The Chef Cartel as part of this year’s VIP Experience! Premium sponsors will be joining this extraordinary culinary “movement” by coming to our pre-soirée exclusive reception to shake hands with and enjoy tastings from the stars of our Chef Battle.

WHAT IS THE CHEF CARTEL, YOU ASK?

Talented chefs put their heart and soul into creating new and exciting ways to discover food. The Chef Cartel runs an ongoing series of culinary competitions where chefs contend in real time to claim food supremacy. The atmosphere is intense and accurately embodies the fierce and competitive nature of the food industry. Center stage is given to dueling chefs as they battle head-to-head to rise as winner in front of a live audience and an esteemed panel of judges. The Chef Cartel is building a network of chefs, food producers, and forward thinking brands across North America.

MEET THE DUELING CHEFS OF CUISINE & CUVÉE!

IVANA RACA

Ivana took her first restaurant job in the kitchen at North 44 at the age of 17. Just three years later, Chef Mark McEwan made her his first female saucier. Ivana went on to serve as the Sous Chef to launch ONE Restaurant, and at age 24, she became the first female Executive Chef at the $6 million food emporium, McEwan Foods.

Her passion growing along with her reputation, she advanced to become the Executive Chef of Corporate Catering at Muzik Nightclub in late 2012. Shortly after, she traveled to Australia and spent two years working for Paul Froggatt, a Michelin 2-star chef in the Palazzo Versace. In 2015, she made it to the final round of “Underground Chef Battle”.

Ivana is currently running her very own 42-seat restaurant in Queen West serving her amazing food for the public to enjoy.

LÉONIE LILLA

Léonie was born and raised in Switzerland. After completing a three-year Culinary Arts apprenticeship in Montreux, and gaining experience at the Hotel Beau-Rivage Palace in Ouchy, Switzerland, she left to pursue an international career, finally landing in Canada.

She has enjoyed working in some of Toronto’s top kitchens including Momofuku Daisho and Auberge du Pommier. She also spent time as the Chef at Farmer's Daughter.

Léonie is currently a freelance chef, curating and cooking for high-end dinner parties. This year, she will be venturing into opening her own catering company.
